Paragraph of poem (in class writing)

My favorite line of the poem " Carpe Dime" is "there is little lasting joy in things done
only for gold or fame." I think the author uses very simple wording but a beautiful sentence structure to tell people that there are more interesting things to do rather than gold or fame. I also like a very short line which is "Take in the smells of life, good and foul." I think the author uses a very simple structure to make people to try different things no matter it is good or bad. Moreover, in stead of using "disgusting" or "bed" those daily words, the author uses "Foul" , I think it is a smart choice.
